What would your guild/class be?
What would your guild/class be?
Well, there are other classes besides the basic guilds, right? That's only if you're comfy travelling outside of Grimgar for a long while in order to learn it.
For you to choose Priest despite the class's high casualty rate is courageous of you. Let's hope Luck is in love with you :)
Umm Hunter could be the most balanced class aside from its survival skills, they are both excelled in ranged and close quarter combat as evident of Yume of using a bow and a hunter's dagger therefore they are fit to maneuver in any given situation. They are lightly armored but has the agility to evade most attacks. Is it possible to multi-class in the world of Grimgar?
Truth be told if your familiar with Dungeons & Dragons Videos games such as Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. The classes shown here are almost very identical which is very fascinating! Looking forward reading the Light Novels when vacation hits!
@The seeking seer it is possible to multi class in Grimgar. However, you can only belong to one Guild at a time. So you would have to leave your current guild, pay the fee, and then pay the entry fee to join a new Guild. The only exception is Dread Knight. Once you join that guild you can never leave. The only possible downside is that if you switch guilds it could prevent you from learning the top tier skills as they are only available to the more loyal members.
@ Nameless Wikia contributer Wow how very fascinating! I appreciate the reply! Hmmm... sort of like a "Dual Class" in Baldur's Gate wherein you quit/stopped advancing in your current class and begin advancing in a second class of your choice. You will retain the benefits and abilities of the first class at its current level, but from then on you will only gain experience in the second...
Too bad Dread knights couldn't leave their guild, seems Ranta is stuck in being one (snicker) Well I do agree the disadvantage of switching classes and guilds is that you wont have access to top tiers or higher level skills which is a huge advantage on your respective class. However it entirely depends on the tactics and strategy a particular party utilizes. If your more of a aggressive type, being a fighter/mage is a good choice for it could tackle most situation in facing enemies on a distance and in close combat. Defensive Parties would seek to specialize in their given classes since its a safe investment. Multi-class Character are somehow hard to manage most people who Multi-class are considered veterans or expert adventurers since they know that the battlefield is a ever evolving place and having different skill sets is way better than in specializing one that really helps increase they're survival ratings. Try playing some RPG games that offers Multi-class characters builds to see the pros and cons firsthand lol!
I will start with thief, hunter then warrior.
You have to purchase those skills. It doesn't matter how long you were in the guild. If you have no money, you can't learn the secrets of that particular guild. Basically, what makes you stronger is how savvy you are at making money and how you spend it on equipment, skills and supplies.
So can learn all the skills available at a particular guild then move on to another guild then repeat.
You can actually multi class and be active with as many guilds as you can handle instead of quitting and moving onto the next one. It's just that doing all that at once gets you frowned upon by many in Alterna.
Haruhiro did at some point thought about wanting to change the Thief class into something else (since the name gives disapproving impressions to people). I'm REALLY hoping the author will keep that notion for future books. at the least let us see other classes!
BTW, if you mix mage abilities with melee techniques as combos, you can create a battle mage. Maybe even ninjas can exist once you can manage elementals very well!... but they are both complex and advanced for grimgar setup, and stamina would be harder to manage, but still possible. hmm...
@Blerghers, really? I could have sworn that in order to join a different guild you had to quit the guild you currently belonged to. I'm pretty sure in Volume 1 page 80 Haruhiro stats he could only join one guild. Was that because he couldn't pay to join another guild? He did mention that joining only one guild was restrictive.
Eg.
If my first guild is thief. I can earn as much money as possible by going on raids on damrow, cyrene mine, wonder hole to learn all the skills provided by the thief guild in exchange for money.
The books does not say you can't leave your first guild except the dark warrior, dark knight(skullhell) guild.
If haruhiro learns all the thief skills and if he wants, he can move on to different classes like hunter, warrior, priest, paladin, mage or even dark knight.
To become a priest, he cannot use blades but he can heal others and learn staffs skills.
To become a mage, he will learn mage skills but he won't be able to use it along with his thief skills unless he applies a special coating to his weapons or armor which according to the books, costs a fortune. The reason for the coating, is because the elementals ( the power borrowed by the mages) do not react well to metal which is why shihoru is completely unarmored and uses a non metal staff.
Haruhiro can join the dark knight skill and become a devoted servant of skull hell but after joining, he can never leave or else he would be hunted down by his peers, and teachers
I never said you couldn't leave your guild, just that you couldn't be a part of multiple guilds at the same time. Trust me. A lot of you what you just said, I've manually put in this wiki. I'm just saying that in the first volume, Haruhiro states that he could only join one guild and he thought that was restrictive. And that he could quit the tthieves guild but he would have to repay the entrance fee. Page 80 and 83 of Volume 1 state that. And on page 97, Haruhiro mentions that in order to join the Warrior's guild he would have to quit the Thief's Guild.
